VINTAGE NEW GUINEA CROCODILE WOMAN ANCESTOR FIGURE CARVING MARAMBA TRIBE CIRCA 1965
    Approximate Dimensions 12 x 5 x 4 inches
Carved by the Maramba Jungle Tribe.
The tribes of the New Guinea Jungle revere the crocodile.  This
    ancestral
figure was carved to honor the crocodile and the ancestors of the Maramba Tribe.  Shown as a pregnant woman with the head of a crocodile. This is in excellent condition for its age.
NOTE: This was made in the village to be set in sand,  It will not stand upright on a hard surface.  Also note that pictures were taken with and
    with out
flash, which accounts for the different appearance in the photos.
